The Central Lake Village D.P.W. is driven with the support of the Village Council to maintain the Village in its entirety to be the best “little town in Michigan”. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional in their work.
The Village maintains a newly implemented 20 year road maintenance, and improvement plan, with Maple Street, Howard Street, Moyer Street, and Herrick Street being completed in the 2012 fiscal year.
The Village services 628 sanitary water customers and 170 waste water customers.
The D.P.W. performs DEQ mandated bi-annual ground water testing at 6 different monitoring wells. A copy of the current evaluation is available at the D.P.W. office. All D.P.W. employees are State Of Michigan certified water and wastewater technicians.
A sanitary water survey is done by the DEQ annually. A copy of this evaluation is available at the D.P.W. office. The current rating of “provisionally satisfactory” has been released to the Village of Central Lake.
Brad Slater, District Engineer, Resource Management Division, stated “The Village has performed commendable work since the last Sanitary Survey by inspecting the storage tanks, writing a Reliability Study, submitting an updated bacteria sampling plan, including Well #3 in the automated system, and by completing a water rate study.”
The D.P.W. with the support of the Village Council maintains a constantly updated fleet of equipment to be used to complete the daily operations of this Village.
